Shawn A. Wright
I earned my J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 2019 and my bachelor’s in business and social work from Eastern Nazarene College in 2015.
During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a victim advocate at the district attorney’s office in Quincy, MA. This is where I realized that I am passionate about helping others who are trying to navigate complicated processes of the legal system.
While at Miami Law, I worked at the National Labor Relations Board, where I was able to experience federal agency law. I also served as an Articles and Comments Editor on the University of Miami Law Review and earned UM’s pro bono service award for my work as an advocate in the greater Miami-Dade community.
It was not until I began working at a large veterans law firm in Providence, Rhode Island, that I developed my understanding and appreciation for veterans law. I have found that helping veterans through the complicated appeals process is a small but rewarding way that I can give back to those who served.
